Every year Theatre Breaks takes a look at the thoughts and habits

The first Lyceum Theatre was pulled down to make way for Samuel Beazley’s theatre which was opened in 1815 and the first theatre to be lit by gas. The theatre was to be destroyed to make way for a roundabout in 1939 but the demolition was put on hold. It was at one time the Lyceum Ballroom and it regularly hosted Miss World. The theatre finally returned for good in 1994 when it was bought by Apollo Leisure who completely refurbished the building. More information
