Oliver! Theatre Breaks

Oliver! London Theatre BreaksMy brother-in-law, Jack would have loved to see Oliver! back in town. His brother and he had a long history with the musical – both in the original cast of the stage show and of course Jack as the Artful Dodger in the film. So don’t miss the chance of creating your own memories of Lionel Bart’s fabulous musical and make sure you book an Oliver! Theatre Break this winter.

Oliver! London Theatre Breaks

Cameron Mackintosh has joined forces with Director and Choreographer Matthew Bourne to bring a new production to London which will open at the Gielgud Theatre on Saturday 14 December 2024.

Taking on Jack’s old role of Dodger will be Billy Jenkins (Les Misérables, BBC’s Dodger).

The rest of the cast includes Simon Lipkin (Guys and Dolls, Avenue Q) as Fagin, Shanay Holmes (Miss Saigon, The Bodyguard) as Nancy, Aaron Sidwell (Henry VI, Wicked) as Bill Sikes, and Philip Franks (The Rocky Horror Show, Witness for the Prosecution) as Mr Brownlow.

With arguable one of the most catchiest scores in musical history, including Food Glorious Food, Consider Yourself, You’ve Got to Pick-a-Pocket or Two, I’d Do Anything, Oom Pah Pah, As Long As He Needs Me and many more, the Olivier, Tony and Oscar-winning masterpiece vividly brings to life Dickens’ ever-popular story of the boy who asked for more.

Jack Wild – the Artful Dodger

For many, Jack’s Dodger is the performance they think of when the think of the Carol Reid’s 1968 film of Oliver!  My sister, Claire Harding and Jack wrote his story in the book It’s a Dodgers Life. You can order it from Fantom Publishing to get you in the mood to see Oliver!
