Theatre and Hotel Packages with London Theatre Breaks 2026 / 2027
Historically Theatre Breaks has only promoted the productions of the Donmar Warehouse once they have transferred to one of the main West End theatres, but this year I am overjoyed to announce that will change, as we are now able to include tickets for Donmar shows in our theatre and hotel packages.
The Donmar Warehouse is one of those West End theatres that has built up such a reputation since it opened in 1977 that just its mention, or that it is a Donmar production, should give you a clue as to the quality of the production.
It gained prominence under Artistic Directors Sam Mendes and later Michael Grandage, establishing a reputation for artistic excellence and frequently transfers productions to the major West End theatres and Broadway.
It serves as a premier venue for new writing, classic re-imagining, and musical theatre. and has hosted performances by such stars including Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor.
Situated in the heart of London’s West End, in Covent Garden, it’s auditorium holds just 251-seats and it’s two-level thrust stage, ensures an intimate, close-up experience for the whole audience.
Interesting fact: it is named after theatre owner, Donald Albery and his wife Margaret (Don/Mar get it?) .
Another interesting fact: it was originally a brewery vat room and banana-ripening depot. Their bar still sells beer but last time I checked their café does not sell bananas. Let me know if that has changed.
