Spamalot, the much loved Monty Python musical, written by Eric Idle, is now playing London’s Theatreland at the Playhouse Theatre.
The story, of course, is of King Arthur and it follows him (and the Knights of the Round Table) as they journey the length and breadth of the country to find the Holy Grail.
The musical score boasts such well known songs as He Is Not Dead Yet, Knights Of The Round Table, Find Your Grail and Always Look on The Bright Side Of Life which was originally from the Monty Python film The Life of Brian. The musical also features Eric Idle himself as God (see small print).
Latest Casting News : Joe Pasquale & Carly Stenson (pictured right ) return to their roles of King Arthur and The Lady of the Lake respectively from 20th Jan 2014. Let’s only hope Joe doesn’t make it to the final of ‘Dancing on Ice’ or he’s going to be hard pushed to find rehearsal time!
Spamalot and Hotel
The Playhouse is down on the Embankment just behind the Charing Cross Hotel. As such it is quite easy to get south of the river giving you the opportunity to benefit from deals on hotels there – often much cheaper than in the West End itself. That said you can’t beat a West End theatre for a London Theatre Break so take a look at the Strand Palace Hotel up on the Strand.
