14/9/12 Hedda Gabler in London

Hi Theatregoers

This weekend I’m off to see ‘As You Like It’ at Shakespeare’s Globe which I am really looking forward to. There’s also a great Turkish restaurant opposite (Tas Pide) which I shall be frequenting before hand!

Henrik Ibsen is, I guess in some ways, Norway’s answer to Shakespeare and his play ‘Hedda Gabler’ has been adapted and brought back to life at the Old Vic theatre starring Sherridan Smith. It opened last night and has so far recieved favourable reviews – much of them going to Miss Smith in her “most testing role” to date.  It is said to be an intensive three hours long, but the drama is interspersed with moments of humour which the cast milk to their last drop before launching back into the woe’s of a late 19th Century woman lot!

Let me know what you are seeing theatre wise this weekend and afterwards what you thought of it. You can write reviews on our website.

Have a great weekend everyone.
