11/7/12 Excitable Me!

Hi theatre-goers

I’m rather excited today because there are 2 fabulous plays lighting up the West End starring a batch of home-grown young talent who thankfully have stayed grounded and not gone all Hollywood on us … yet!

First off, currently playing at the Duke of Yorks theatre is Posh which has transfered from the Royal Court. It stars several familiar faces from our tv screens including Henry Lloyd-Hughes (The Inbetweeners), Stefan Rhodri (Gavin & Stacy) and Simon Shepherd (Peak Practice). The play takes a seering look at the British class system with the potential of revulotion from the halls of the Oxford elite.

Opening in September at the Duchess theatre is Our Boys – a play initially written in 1993 about the neglect of wounded British troops which still has relevance today. Fans of the Harry Potter films will flock to see this no doubt as Matthew Lewis, who played hero of the hour Neville Longbottom, stars along with Arthur Darvill (Rory in Dr Who) and “British Acting Royalty” Lawrence Fox (DC Hathaway in ITV’s Lewis).

Both plays are on top of my “to do” list. Why don’t you join me?

Happy Wednesday everyone

Sara
