The Duchess Theatre was designed by Ewen Barr. It first opened on 25th November 1929 with a war play “Tunnel Trench” by Hubert Griffith. Famously, the Duchess holds a world record for one of the shortest runs in theatrical history: it hosted the play called “The Intimate Revue” which ran for one night only!
