Here at Theatre Breaks Central we are looking forward to our summer break next week and almost halfway through August the trends that were set in July are continuing on a pace.
Having discovered that Jersey Boys was the favourite London show for a theatre break in July it has kept its top spot in August too. And obviously London theatre-goers are up for a good time because We Will Rock You is second. After the week that we have had in London, I think that is a good sign!
Family favourites and good-time shows are what dominate the rest of the list.
The Wizard of Oz, Disney’s The Lion King, Mamma Mia!, Legally Blonde and Billy Elliot rub shoulders with a spectral pair in the form of Phantom of the Opera and Ghost – The Musical!
Finally Strictly Come Dancing fans keep Flavia and Vincent in the top ten with Midnight Tango.

Mention should go there to Legally Blonde – first time in the top ten as a London show. It is doing great guns in Edinburgh as I have mentioned before but as a good-time London show it is obviously a popular choice – plus there are some good deals to be had too in the Family London Musicals Packages we are running – as there are for Jersey Boys and Billy Elliot.
Also a quick mention for Ghost – the only show to make it into our list and the Telegraph’s London theatre list. Richard III, Anne Boleyn, Journey’s End and Beauty Queen of Leenane were the other 4 in their top 5: I think ours are more fun though!
