Disney's Hercules London Theatre Breaks

Hercules is inspired by the 1997 Academy Award®-nominated animated film of the same name from Walt Disney Studios.

It might have something to do with Ancient Greece too (That’s three Greek musicals in London and I don’t even have to mention Grease! Can you name the others? Answer at the bottom of the page)

Hercules, isn’t quite a god and isn’t quite a mortal. But if he’s not a god, how can he possibly save the world from Hades? It’s one thing flexing those pecs, but going from zero to hero requires a different kind of strength.

Directed and choreographed by Casey Nicholaw and co-choreography by Tanisha Scott,  Disney’s Hercules will deliver a thrilling night out at London’s Theatre Royal Drury Lane that leaves you ready to conquer anything.

Disney’s Hercules features music and lyrics by Alan Menken and David Zippel and a brand-new book by Robert Horn and Kwame Kwei-Armah.

Hotels Near the Theatre

The Theatre Royal is just by Covent Garden in the heart of Theatreland. The Nell Gwynn pub is opposite  and the Royal Opera House is round the corner. So there are over 40 hotels within a mile or a 20 minute walk.  Three star theatre breaks start at £138 per person, but of course in that area there are also some very fine  4 and five star hotels.

Personally I am never in a hotel long enough for me to warrant splashing out on a five star hotel so for me the Wilde Aparthotels are nice and really close and not too pricey, and  only a few hundred yards further is the 4 star Thistle Holborn. in Bloomsbury, which is a really pleasant area just outside the hubbub of the West End. Of course if you want hub-bub, you can’t get more central or much closer to the theatre itself than the Strand Palace Hotel.

The theatre is also really close to Covent Garden Tube station, so if you want to stay somewhere else in London – maybe Kensington or Knightsbridge or Kings Cross, then just hop on the tube and the Piccadilly line will have you there in no time flat.

And the other two  Greek musicals? Hadestown and Mamma Mia! of course!
