London’s spellbinding and spectacular smash hit musical, Wicked, tells the incredible untold story of the legendary witches from L. Frank Baum’s classic The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. Most importantly, Wicked explains why one witch came to be called ‘good’ and the other ‘wicked’.
Wicked breaks feature the ‘eye-poppingly lavish show‘ (Sunday Express) which transports audiences to a fantasy world of wizardry, witchcraft, sorcery and spells.

First of all, the music is typical American, modern musical stuff: dazzling chorus numbers, massive power ballads and dramatic underscoring. But there is light and shade allowing the characters their quiet times of introspection on stage!
The idea is that this story is all happening “off stage”, as it were, in “The Wizard of Oz”. So we get glimpses of the other story as we follow this one: making the audience feel very clever and pleased with itself as we recognise the references! Very much adding to the fun of the piece without dominating it too much.

Is Wicked the stage show like the films? Wicked is a great family musical – if you’ve seen the films, you will know how much joy it brings. The main difference is that the show tells the story of both parts of the film in just one evening, so it is much faster moving.
Where is Wicked playing? Wicked is on at the Apollo Victoria Theatre, at 17 Wilton Road, London SW1V 1LL, near Victoria Train Station. The area is just behind Buckingham Palace.
What is the nearest underground station? Turn right out of the main entrance of Victoria Underground station and you should be able to see the Apollo Victoria Theatre and the big green sign announcing that Wicked is playing there! It is on the Victoria, Circle and District Lines.
When Can I see Wicked? Performance Times are Monday to Saturday at 19:30 for evening performances and on Wednesday & Saturday there are matinees at 1430. Currently Wicked and Hotel packages are booking to January 2027.
Who Wrote Wicked? The Music and Lyrics are by Stephen Schwartz. The book is by Winnie Holzman. The Original Novel was by Gregory Maguire
What hotels are good to stay at to see Wicked? An excellent modern hotel near the Apollo Theatre is the Park Plaza Victoria. The service is friendly and Wicked Theatre breaks guest should feel completely relaxed here. Similarly you will enjoy the more traditional charms of the Rochester Hotel by Blue Orchid. But nowhere will you experience the relaxed friendliness of the Rubens at the Palace Hotel. It is my personal favourite in London and whenever I have a few extra quid I head here! The perfect place to stay for a London theatre break!
NOTE: The Apollo Victoria is away from the main theatreland area surrounding Soho and Covent Garden. It has a great range of nearby hotels – especially 4 star hotels. This means that you have a great choice of hotels at great prices. Therefore Wicked Theatre Breaks (ticket and hotel package deals) are amongst the best deals in town.
Can I book travel with my Wicked theatre break? Travel can be added to your ticket and hotel package by either train or coach. It is very close to Victoria station, one of London’s main terminals for both coach and rail travel

My two friends and I have just returned from our theatre break to see Wicked, staying at the Grosvenor Victoria.
We had a great time. We were very impressed with the hotel, which had old style charm and didn't appear 'corporate' in any way. Also our seats were excellent too at the theatre for an enjoyable show. My friends thought the whole package was such good value, they said they will look on your website when they next want a trip.

Wicked was superb. Cast and staging were fantastic. Defying Gravity left me in tears it was sung so well and powerfully.
Absolutely fantastic by far the best musical i have seen in a long time. If you take children , make sure the see Wizard of Oz afterwards
