American Idiot

Theatre breaks for Green Day’s American Idiot in London

Described by critics as “Chaotic, intense and pulsating with legendary Green Day hits”, American Idiot is a story of sex ‘n’ drugs ‘n’ punk rock for the modern era.

Set post-9/11, three young friends, influenced by the terrifying attacks on the USA,  chose different paths in life which will see all of them look death straight in the eye. Can they turn their lives around and find a way through to the other side?

With the entire musical pretty much sung-through, Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong’s lyrics make a powerful impact on the audience as they watch the group of childhood friends question their identity in a country shattered by terrorism.

Returning to the Arts theatre this summer are former X Factor finalist Amelia Lily along with Lucas Rush. Platinum selling recording artist Newton Faulkner makes his West End acting debut in the role of  Johnny.
