Seeing The Devil Wears Prada at the Dominion Theatre London
A school night theatre outing saw the Theatre Breaks crew out at The Devil Wears Prada at the Dominion Theatre for a fun packed and stylish evening of glitz and glam New York style this week.

I’m not going to do a review, more eloquent and better dressed folk have already done that, but I thought that a few tips might help when you decide to go.
Firstly, do put it on your “to do” list. Especially if you are better dressed than me. Production values are sky high, Elton John’s music is fab and it is not too long.
If you loved the film I think you are definitely going to love this (I know how some adaptations seem to miss the mark, but this is bang on!)
Vanessa Williams gets the best entrances and exits and he really dominates the stage when he is on – Elton’s music really helps them to shine.
Obviously the frocks are the stars of the show.
You can do this crazy-order-your-drinks-and-get-them-delivered but because everyone else is doing that the queues aren’t to long. And the prices not too bad: Pint of London Pride £7!
The front of house staff are lovely and very welcoming and if you are coming by tube it’s great to walk up the steps and be met by a massive Jimmy Choo! They’ve got frocks inside too so you definitely get the fashion industry vibe straight away.
The merch looks good, not that I ever buy it: if I wore a T-shirt reminding me that I went to a show I would have to cover up the t-shirt reminding me of what stop I have to get off at on the way home!
Seating in the stalls is gently raked and the stage is wide and the set uncluttered so the view is good wherever.
You still have the long queue for the ladies and the short queue for the gents but hey ho! They don’t start till everyone is seated (in the auditorium!) so don’t panic.
Good food is available along New Oxford Street on the same side of the road so you don’t need to do that full tummy dash across a busy street between pre-theatre dinner and the show
Lastly, getting to the theatre is easy, by tube (Tottenham Court Road on the Northern Line and the Central Line and the brand new Elizabeth Line), by bus (8, 14, 19, 24, 29, 38, 55, 73, 98 176 188, 390 plus Night buses N1, N5, N8, N19, N20, N25, N29, N38, N55, N68 N73, N98 etc) taxi or Shanks’s Pony, so however you decide to go, make sure you do.
