A Christmas Carol

Christmas Carol

This new production of the the Dickens’ classic A Christmas Carol adapted by Jack Thorne entertained young and old over Christmas 2023.

A seasonal story of greed, grief, ghoulish ghosts and eleventh hour redemption.

Directed by Matthew Warchus a Christmas Carol Theatre Break brought to life the timeless tale of miserly Ebenezer Scrooge who is visited by three ghosts during Christmas Eve night who take him on journeys giving him a glimpse of a past life, a current one and finally what life could be like if he continues on his mean-spirited path. But will it be too late for Scrooge’s icey heart to thaw in time for Christmas Day?

Matthew Warchus’ big-hearted, Tony Award-winning, smash hit production of Charles Dickens’ immortal classic returns to The Old Vic, joyously adapted for the stage by Jack Thorne (Harry Potter and the Cursed ChildHis Dark Materials) and starring Emmy Award-winner Christopher Eccleston (AccusedThe Leftovers) as Ebenezer Scrooge.
