News Update: Winter is done with!
And we are on our way to summer holidays! There are some great shows and some great deals in London at the moment – for the children and for the grown-ups – and, if you don’t have something to celebrate personally, then why not use Easter or half term as a great excuse!
New shows for a short break in London include The Producers, The Devil Wears Prada, and Beetlejuice joining more established shows such as Kinky Boots, Matilda and, Back To The Future.

Summer, Half Term Breaks, any weekend – there are a lot of excuses to come to London but maybe you have your own ones. Short breaks are a perfect way to celebrate a birthday, an anniversary or maybe even a hen night! The great attractions are open pretty much every day of the year and every day now there is a world class musical being performed in one of London’s great West End theatres.

Short Breaks in London: School Holidays 2026
This year, because of the early Easter, school holidays are all over the place depending on where you live.
So I’ll just give you ours here in deepest darkest Bedfordshire!
- Spring Half Term: Monday 26 to 30 May 2026
- Summer Holiday Monday 20th July to 2nd September 2026
- October Half Term: Monday 26th to Friday 30th October 2026
- Christmas: Monday 21st December 2026 to 5th January 2027
There may be some regional variations but these are basically it! And don’t forget those training days!
What ever days during the week you chose to come to London there will be a world class show playing to create a highlight to your short break – even Sundays host half -a-dozen shows when just a couple of years ago if you took a short break over a Sunday the theatres in London were “dark”.
Short Breaks in London: Weekends
The busiest days are Saturdays but fortunately London hotels offer some great deals still – especially for two night stays. And if you book your theatre tickets for the Friday night, or the Saturday matinee, or even a Sunday matinee then you really can get some great discounts on those too.
