We Will Rock You

We Will Rock You Theatre Breaks at the London Coliseum

This epic show returned to London for a summer of ga-ga rhapsodies  in ’23. We Will Rock You is the Queen musical that dominated the London Theatre scene for so long and returned briefly to the London Coliseum for a summer run.

We Will Rock You London Theatre Breaks

It’s a safe, happy, Ga-Ga world. Everywhere the kids watch the same movies, wear the same fashions, think the same thoughts and listen to the same music: on Planet Mall, all musical instruments are banned and the Company Computers generate the tunes and the kids download them.

It’s an age of Boy Bands and Girl Bands. Of Boy and Girl Bands. Of Girl Bands with a couple of boys in them that look like girls anyway. Hits are scheduled years in advance, but resistance is growing!

An underground movement of music lovers is looking for a leader to take them out of the subway and into the real world of rock ‘n’ roll: enter Galileo.

“Queen’s musical is kind of Magic….Spectacular….What an evening…MAGNIFICO” – The Sun.

gets better and better: great music - obviously - and the story is terrible so all in all a great night out.

The music of Queen is outstanding and that alone is the best part of this show [We Will Rock You]. Took 2 teenage boys with me, who loved this show. For me, the story was so silly, it felt like an 11 yr old had written it. This I found very irritating and it didn't get any better through the show.

Fantastic show, Great singing, dancing and costumes. Wonderful atmosphere!

Ben Elton's Musical bonanza celebrating the music of Queen does it exactly what it says on the tin, it will rock your socks off!

A journey to the future where individualism and alas, rock music is strictly forbidden!

The story follows the two main protaganists, Galileo and Scaramouche as they embark on an mission to bring back what was lost along side a string of Queen hits.

The three female leads in the musical all were similar and quite ear bursting at some points. I also think the choreography of the dancing was messy and hard to focus on. The stage was bere and too big, sometimes the cast would be wandering around on stage looking lost whilst singing and repeating the same actions.

If your a Queen fan then this musical is for you, the references to Queen lyrics and other famous artists was funny. I saw the musical five years ago when it first opened and have to say that it was much better then. I would recommened to sit in the stalls as you feel much more part of the action there. Even if you are not a fan of the music of Queen you will enjoy it as a musical on its own.
