Shows Closing In London

If it wasn’t so much of a shock that Chicago, after a brief run at the Garrick Theatre last week announced that it was closing, then what was a shock was that Blood Brothers is closing too! And Dreamboats and Petticoats AND The Hurly Burly Show.

If you add those bits of news to the immenent closure of Sweeney Todd and The Wizard of Oz and Ghost then it would seem that the end of the summer is becoming a bit of a blood bath.

But I like a change and any closure in London’s Theatreland gives Tommy Steele a chance to star in something like Scrooge again and Simon Callow will probably bring The Mystery of Charles Dickens back to London…

STOP PRESS: Tommy Steele is starring in Scrooge at the London Palladium and Simon Callow is starring in The Mystery of Charles Dickens at the Playhouse.

I love Theatreland!

All the best

Simon
