4/9/2012 What’s on in London

Hi Theatregoers

Yes, I’m back from my August break… what do you mean you didn’t even know I had gone away! I did leave the daily blog in the capable hands of my colleague Simon and I know he’s been filling your head with lots of useful theatre info over the last month.

Well, how busy is the West End theatre looking this coming Autumn??? Shows closing, shows opening… my social calendar is going to be competely booked out with all the good stuff coming to London that I definitely want to see.

First off a great fav of mine (& my children) – Spamalot is taking up residencey at the Playhouse from 12th November. After a successful 7 week run during the summer featuring comedians Marcus Brigstock & Jon Culshaw, the show will return in time for Christmas with a new “all-star” cast. Can’t wait!

Other shows that are on my list to see are new musical Loserville coming to  the Garrick theatre plus the return to the West End of Cabaret at the Savoy the latter starring platinum selling recording artist Will Young. Later on The Bodyguard and then Viva Forever! will open at the Adelphi & Piccadilly theatres respectively.

One of my all time favourites – Kiss Me Kate opens at the Old Vic on 20th November. Directed by award winning Trevor Nunn, it has an absolutely stellar cast including the gorgeous Adam Garcia, Casualty’s top doctor Clive Rowe and the amazing Hannah Waddingham

Can you keep up with all of this? I’d better go & plan my diary now!

Have a good sunny (I hope) Tuesday…

Sara
