23/8/12 Autumn Theatre Breaks

Autumn Theatre Breaks in London

This week is catch up week in London’s Theatreland. A catch up with all the new shows coming in to London between now and the autumn – and I’ve also come across a little gossip!

Let’s start with the new shows!

The Book of Mormon is coming from Broadway – Mormons taking god to Africa? A Musical? A Comic Musical? A Comic Musical by the creators of South Park? Next they’ll be telling me that an ex member of pop group Busted has written a feel good musical about a kid who invents email!

Next on the list of new shows is Loserville. Written by James Bourne, an ex member of pop group Busted, it is a feelgood musical about a kid in america who invents email!

A Chorus of Disapproval breaks are now on sale – Ayckbourn’s classic comedy stars Rob Brydon, Nigel Harman, Ashley Jensen so tickets should go quickly!

Soul Sister – the Ike and Tina Turner story opens this week for a short run .

The gossip is all about new shows: Newsies – Disney 1992 musical movie coming to town? Think Les Mis with an unbroken C19th bronx accent rather than Lion King. It’s about the Newsboys strike of 1899: David and Goliath stuff. It’s Annie without the curls, or the dog and the cuteness…

Finally THE MYSTERY OF CHARLES DICKENS with Simon Callow has extended to 10/11/2012

More new shows tomorrow!
