Theatre News: RICKY WHITTINGTON and HIS CAT

Charlotte Ritchie, star of TV’s Fresh Meat, Siblings and Call The Midwife, will star as the eponymous hero in Ricky Whittington and His Cat, this Christmas at the New Diorama Theatre.

Theatre News: RICKY WHITTINGTON and HIS CAT London Theatre BreaksA satirical take on the traditional panto, Ricky Whittington is frustrated by his lack of social and economic opportunities, so he puts all his possessions into a handkerchief and sets off to London only to discover that, rather than gold, London offers nothing more than disenfranchisement, political disillusionment, economic instability and alienation – unless Mummy and Daddy are rich!

Fight in the Dog

Produced by Fight in the Dog, who gave us Twelfth Night with Comedians, at the Wonderground earlier in the year, Ricky Whittington might be a good choice for anyone who enjoyed Siblings, or Fresh Meat and has a rather cynical view on what may, or may not be, “behind you”!

Age recommendation: 14+

Joining Charlotte in an all-singing and mostly-dancing ensemble cast will be: Ellie White (The Windsors, House of Fools, @elevenish), Rob Carter (Peep Show, Fresh Meat), Omar Ibrahim (Birds of a Feather), Rosa Robson (RSC, Black Mountain Poets) and David Elms (Borderline).
