Sometimes its worth revisiting the classics, especially if that classic is Rodgers and Hammerstein’s The King And I. In 2024 The King and I Theatre Breaks will be available at the Dominion Theatre for a special 6 week run starring Call the Midwife‘s Helen George – see below for hotel suggestions.

Set in 1860’s Bangkok, The King and I tells the story of the unconventional and tempestuous relationship that develops between the King of Siam and British schoolteacher whom the modernist King, in an imperialistic world, brings to Siam to teach his many wives and children.

It’s lovely to see The King and I come to The Dominion Theatre. This is the second time that the multi-award winning and critically acclaimed Lincoln Center Theater’s production has run in London. Last time it was along Oxford Street at the London Palladium.

This gloriously lavish production will feature a world-class company of over 50 West End and Broadway performers. who storm through the famous score including such hits as Whistle a Happy Tune, Getting to Know You, and Shall We Dance.  This show is a testament to the lavish heritage of gloriously romantic musical theatre.
