Last Chance to book a Backbeat Theatre Break in London

The sad news is that Backbeat is closing. Unlike some of its Beatles-based predecessors it has been a quality production. But there must be something about Beatles fans not wanting to go to the West End or (less likely) West End audiences not liking Beatles music, that means that tickets just do not sell!

Either way it is time to get in quick if you want to enjoy a Backbeat Theatre Break.  I would recommend you do.

BACKBEAT

Duke Of York’s Theatre

 *****

Financial Times

****

“The Beatles are back in town. Backbeat is a back-story to cherish”

Fiona Mountford – Evening Standard

 ****

“A striking, absorbing play with music. Imaginative, thrilling and startling”

Sam Marlowe – Time Out

Backbeat at London’s Duke of York’s Theatre must end 18th February!

For Beatles fans, Let it Be is now on at the Savoy Theatre

Backbeat is the story of how The Beatles ‘became’ The Beatles – when John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Pete Best andStuart Sutcliffe embarked on their journey from the famous docks of Liverpool to search for success in the seedy red light district of Hamburg.

The compelling triangular relationship between the band’s original bassist Stuart Sutcliffe, the striking German photographer Astrid Kirchherr with whom he fell in love, and his best friend John Lennon, became an intrinsic part of The Beatles’ story – and put them on an unstoppable trajectory onto the world stage.

Directed by the award-winning David Leveaux, Backbeat features all-time rock ‘n’ roll classics including Love Me Do, PS I Love You, Twist & Shout, I Saw Her Standing There, Rock ‘N’ Roll Music, Long Tall Sally, Please Mr Postman and Money – live on stage as performed by ‘The Beatles’.
