Friday 8th June 2012

Hi there theatre-goers

Had a day off yesterday with a view to taking kids to Legoland – ha ha, we’ll try that again in the “summer” if we ever get one!

On Wednesday I wrote our special Father’s Day newsletter covering lots of great ideas to treat Dads & Grandads all over the UK. I suggested events such as British Grand Prix, Top Gear Liveand comedian John Bishop at the O2 as well as theatre breaks to seeJersey Boys, We Will Rock You or Rock of Ages.

However, on my last proof read I realised I hadn’t mentioned the actual date of Father’s Day this year, so bashed it in (in haste) in the first paragraph and off it went to our 19,000+ readers.

Imagine my horror when an hour later I was walking through the town centre and saw numerous adverts for Father’s Day on Sunday 17th June… Yes, I had only written it in as Sunday 16th June in my newsletter. I prayed no one would notice!

You all did – of course – because obviously (unlike me on Wednesday) you are all switched on.  So, my compadre Simon whipped off another ingenious fact filled newsletter to you all apologising for my error.

On the plus side, Simon was able to mention a few other ideas for Father’s Day gifts which I hadn’t had the space to put in the first newsletter – namely the Hampton Court Flower Show and the return of Spamalot to London.

I’m sure you’ll agree that all your Dads & Grandads can look forward to being really spoilt this year with all these treats.

Happy Friday everyone – have a good weekend!
