Valentines Ideas – What West End Shows to Woo to!
Valentines Day: What to Do in 2020
“Valentines Day” – to the romantically challenged, these are probably two of the most scariest words you’ll hear this winter.
You are told – oh anything will do! But beware: apparently a kettle with a rose in it does not count (even if the old one is broken).
But of course a trip to the theatre in London might just be the perfect solution?
Valentine’s Day is on a Friday in 2020 so you can either push the boat out and have a couple of days off work for a romantic weekend to London or just nip up to town for the evening. Valentine’s Day also falls in the majority of school’s half term, so some of you may have to call in a favour or two from a grandparent!
What to see in London for Valentine’s Day?
Well a night out at the theatre is a lovely thing to do anyway, so it doesn’t really matter what you see. In previous years you’ve been spoilt for choice: Once, From Here to Eternity, The Bodyguard, Strangers on a Train – well maybe not the last one! But if you you need some steering in the right direction, the West End show to see in 2020 Valentine’s Day will be Pretty Woman. The 1990 film, with Richard Gere and Julia Roberts was a smash hit and the new musical with music by Bryan Adams promises to be just as successful.
Other great shows for a London Valentine Break
Phantom of the Opera. Beautiful music, lots of romance – the most famous night out at the theatre.
Mamma Mia! Lots of fun. The old ABBA hit factory churns out the songs as Sophie looks for her real dad on the eve of her idyllic Greek island wedding.
Les Miserables – As students try to kick start a revolution, one man’s battle to protect his family brings us a slice of 19th century Paris that has wowed West Audiences for almost 40 years!
If you don’t want to go for a romantic show but just want to see one of the best shows in town, then my top three are 9-5 The Musical, Come From Away and Wicked. Sometimes you can just hove too much lovin’
