Theatre News: 2017 Underbelly Festival announced

Summer 2017 will see the Udderbelly Festival and London Wonderground merge to create the Underbelly Festival under the iconic udders of the big purple cow on the River Thame’s Southbank.

Between 28 April and 30 September 2017 Hungerford Car Park, between Royal Festival Hall and Jubilee Gardens, will be host to this international, multi-arts extravaganza including performances by acclaimed circus troupe Casus, Quebec circus company Flip FabriQue’s Edinburgh Fringe hit Catch Me (Attrape Moi) and comedy highlights including James Acaster, Al Murray, Sara Pascoe and Stephen K Amos.

Always a hotbed of Burlesque, the 2017 festival will also feature a UK premiere from cult boylesque heroes Briefs,  The Neon Moon Cabaret Club: Wonderland and House of Burlesque: 2.0

The Festival is London’s largest programme of affordable comedy, circus, cabaret and family shows, with 80% of tickets available under £20. There is also a great range of street food available and one of the largest outdoor bars in London.

Providing the daily entertainment will be a cavalcade of the very finest in stand-up, musical, alternative and sketch comedy, as well as cabaret, circus, puppetry, magic, and family entertainment with something to suit all ages.
