This fantastically feel-good new modern British musical is a celebratory fusion of culture, music, emotions and fun, bursting with warmth, humour and heart.
What’s it about? Jess needs extra time. She is facing the most important decision of her life: live up to family expectations of university, career and marriage, or follow in the footsteps of her hero David Beckham. When the talented teenager is spotted playing football in Southall, a world of unexpected opportunities opens up before her. But as her sister’s traditional Indian wedding approaches, can she keep her family happy and still follow her dreams?
Former Eastenders actress Preeya Kalidas, who was also in the orginal 2002 film, stars as Jess’ wedding-obsessed sister, Pinky. She joins other cast members including Natalie Dew as Jess, Lauren Samuels as Jules, Jamie Muscato as coach Joe, Jamal Andréas, Tony Jayawardena and Natasha Jayetileke.
The show has a new book by Paul Mayeda Berges and Gurinder Chadha, with original music by Howard Goodall and lyrics by Charles Hart.

What a super feel good show this is. I loved the film so wasn't sure what the musical would add but I soon found myself forgetting the show and falling in love with the characters all over again.
I guess my favourite bits are in the second half and I couldn't quite relax worrying about the balls bouncing out into the audience but I absolutely loved the fusion of western and indian music - I could have listened to that alone all night! Thanks to all for a super evening!
