Hi Theatre-goers
With the imminent release of the film Rock of Ages this week, it got me thinking about how many film & stage tie-ins there are in the West End at the moment.
Most recent films of plays of books are War Horse & Woman in Black– both these stories are strong enough to work in all three forms and War Horse continues to perform to packed houses.
Then of course you have films that became staged plays or musicals such as The 39 Steps, Billy Elliot, Chariots of Fire, Shrek and Ghost.
And finally stage musicals that have been brought onto the silver screen for many more millions to enjoy – Phantom of the Opera, Chicago, of course the afore-mentioned Rock of Ages and the soon to be released Les Miserables.
