Sporty Breaks

I guess it was always going to happen. First weekend of the Olympics and even the more theatrical among us are going out for jogs and talking about carb loading and PB’s… well at least we are talking about it!

If you can do nothing but snigger at the “stretching classes” then take a trip to the West End this month and catch the rather excellent Reduced Shakespeare Company offering their take on the Complete World of Sport. I have an inkling you might enjoy it. Visit our London Theatre Breaks site for more information.

On the flip side, Danny Boyle’s Opening ceremony got all those lycra-clad lovlies thinking they were proper theatrical lovvies! And if this is what “making it up” and “doing stuff for fun” is all about then quite frankly, you can hear them ponder, I would like to see more.

Well unfortunately Lord of the Rings, which it all reminded most of, is not on in London anymore and the production team have mysteriously headed for Brazil,  but there is a wide choice of “epic” West End shows to keep those who like a bit of awe-inspiring wonder of an evening happy.  Phantom of the Opera, Wicked, The Lion King immmediately leap to mind, but of course the Royal Opera House does it best: if you can afford the pennies!

And if not, just make sure you catch the closing ceremony – between the lot of us I hope we entice you to London soon!

All the best

Simon
